Of Nature and Architecture (Old and New)

This is my first show in Columbus.  I am very pleased with it.

Statement:

Of Nature and Architecture (Old and New)

This body of work consists of images from two collections of work; Steffee Hall of Allegheny College and Abandoned Structures of Meadville PA.

Each of these bodies of work represents a relationship between architecture and the natural world.  Steffee Hall shows the way in which man made structures can pair beautifully with natural surroundings through the contrast of organic forms paired with the rigidity of constructed geometry.  Over time, a second relationship is presented when the earth takes back, through natural decay, what we have created.  The beauty of this process is presented through images from Abandoned Structures, displaying an emphasis on geometry, texture, and light.

- Zane A. Miller

If you would like to see the show for yourself it is at Short North Tavern on High Street in Columbus.  The tavern is at 674 North High Street near 670.  The show is up all month until the next Gallery Hop in September.

Images from the show can be found here.
